Asset tracking & kiosk
QR-based asset tracking with a gate-attendant kiosk, attendance and task records.
An organization tracking umbrella-style assets across sites had no system at all — tracking was paper-based, and there was no reliable record of what was where, or who had signed it in or out.
- 01
A full-stack asset management and tracking system built around QR codes rather than manual entry.
- 02
A gate-attendant kiosk interface for scanning assets in and out at a physical checkpoint.
- 03
Attendance and task-tracking data models alongside the asset records, plus a client-facing software proposal grounded in Kenyan law.
Real interfaces, not mockups.
The foundation everything since has built on
This was the earliest project in the current stack, and it established the patterns every later system reused: TanStack Query and Table for data-heavy admin views, react-hook-form with Zod for validated forms, and shadcn/ui as the component base. The QR scanning itself runs client-side via the browser's camera rather than dedicated hardware, keeping the kiosk deployable on ordinary devices.
